Chapter Sixty Seven
Sometime after Niall had finally fallen asleep, Ellie’s phone rang loudly, waking both of them up as she flicked the lights on, trying to find the tiny cell phone.
“Who the hell is calling this late at night?” Niall said as Ellie tripped over him, rushing to her suitcase.
“For fuck’s sake,” She murmured, her eyes adjusting to the bright light as she brought the phone closer to her face to see who was calling her.
“Lilly?” She whispered, glancing at the clock as she tried to listen to what Lilly was babbling about.
“Oh, Ellie, I’m glad you’re up,” She spoke softly into the phone.
“Barely,” Ellie snorted and her smile turned sour as she glared at Niall.
“How’s Ireland?” Lilly asked innocently, obviously being polite.
“Well Niall got super drunk at his parent’s dinner and practically pissed himself,” Ellie flopped down on the bed.
“Oh, shut it,” Niall huffed and rolled his eyes, trying to climb into the bed with Ellie. She pushed him off with her feet, making him land on his butt.
“I’m sure he was just nervous,” Lilly said, trying not to give away any information.
“Well he’s in big trouble,” Ellie said, peering over the side of the bed where Niall smiled back at her. She rolled her eyes and laid on her back.
“So, why exactly are you calling at one in the morning?”
“Well, I think, I think I just made Harry upset…” Lilly spoke softly. Soft was the only word to describe her voice, she was so innocent and small, it was hard to even imagine her ever yelling or getting angry.
“What?” Niall asked, suddenly interested in the conversation.
“Oh, hi, Niall!” Lilly minded her manners.
“How did you upset Harry?” Ellie asked, rolling her eyes at Niall.
“I just, oh, I shouldn’t have called, I’m so terribly sorry,” Lilly gave a soft whimper, interesting Niall even more.
“Lilly, if you called us in the middle of the night, something is clearly wrong,” Ellie said, becoming a bit worried. She knew Lilly wasn’t one to cause a scene.
“I met Harry’s girlfriend today, and now I think Zayn is angry with him, but he won’t tell me, and I haven’t seen Harry since I walked in on him and- Oh, oh no.”
“Wait, what? Harry’s girlfriend? What?” Ellie said, turning the lights on as she tried to gather her things around the room. Niall tried to follow her steps, piecing together the broken conversation.
“What’s going on?” Niall asked as he watched Ellie zip open their suitcase.
“We’re going home,” Ellie whispered, still trying to listen to Lilly.
“But, Ellie, I just got a little drunk, I apologized, we have to stay! We have to stay!” Niall whined, his plan crumbling.
He planned on waking Ellie up at sunrise, even though he knew she wouldn’t like it and she would protest, but he would promise it would be worth it. And as they walked down the dark streets, he knew she would complain, but he would promise her it would be worth it. But then they would reach the end of the road, just as the sun was about to rise, and then he would propose to her, and he knew it would be worth it.
Instead, Ellie was furiously packing, cursing like a sailor as she walked around, throwing her phone on the bed.
“We’re going home right now, get dressed,” She spat, kicking a pair of jeans in Niall’s direction.
“El, we have to stay, they can figure it out by themselves,” He pleaded, but knew she wouldn’t even listen. Ellie was on a mission and there was no way of stopping her.
“Harry is in big trouble,” She huffed, rushing through the bathroom to pack up their stuff.
“Bigger trouble than me?” Niall asked, a tiny glimmer of hope in his eyes.
“It makes you look like a saint,” She yelled from the bathroom.
It was a time like this when Niall was thankful that his friends were more stupid than him.
Secret: My best friend kissed my ex boyfriend and she doesn’t know that I know about it. But I do and every time I look at her, I am so hurt.
And you know what, whatever. I wish I had waited for the right guy, because it’s something special. Who honestly cares if you’ve waited that long? There are so many other important things out there, so don’t fret about it because you’ll find the perfect guy : )
Okay, honestly, I feel like such a shit blogger. I’m so sorry I haven’t written in a while, but things just aren’t getting better. I promise if you just stick around a while longer, it’ll be worth it.
I’m also going on vacation next week so I’ll see if I can get a few chapters written this weekend and put them in my queue.
Excuses, excuses, I am so sorry. I’m trying, I really am. I love that you guys love my story and you always tell me how a new chapter brightens your day, I’m trying so hard to do that for you.
I AM SO SORRY AND I LOVE EVERY SINGLE ONE OF MY READERS. Thank you so much for all your kind messages, they really bring a smile to my face.
Secret: I went to a therapist for two years because I had a really hard time dealing with some things.
Even though I don’t know who you are, I know you’re beautiful. Someone out there thinks so, too. I promise if you just keep your head high, you’ll be so much happier. Nothing is prettier than confidence.
Message me a secret and I’ll trade you a secret.
THAT IS SO FLIPPING COOL, OHMYGOSH!
